Theme Ideas for a Photography Project

When it comes to picking up a photography project, there are no limits. However, be a little careful while shooting certain subjects. For example, a good portrait shot comes out well, when the person is not aware that he/she is being shot. Well, this is a minor tip that goes well for both amateurs and the veterans in the field. 
We shall take a look at some of the most practiced areas which produce excellent photographs, and could be tried by the new-comers too.

Sports

One idea is to go to any sports event. Take one good shot of the stage, when the match is going on. Then take lots of shots of people's expressions, pleased, depressed, disappointed, yelling, etc. Here are given some examples of the sports photography that could be taken up.

Texture

Another idea is to shoot textures, however make sure you take the shots of various textures properly, so the details are clear. Examples of good texture are aging skin, tree bark, wool, rocks, etc.

Black and White

Black and white portrait photography is one of the most popular theme ideas for a photography project. You can start with a timeline photography, of shooting some infants, then children, teens, adults, middle age people, old people, etc. Either you can make them pose for you, or capture them when they are unaware.

Architecture

Architecture creative photography ideas is another great theme. Either you can categorize shooting certain kinds of architecture, or you can shoot the most popular architectural sites at your place.

Construction

A similar idea is to find a construction site in your town, then shoot the empty area. Later take shots during different stages of constructions, and finally the last shot when the building is complete.

Fireworks

Fireworks is another great idea. However, to capture fireworks you need to learn some night photography techniques, and need to have the right equipment as well.

Culture

Culture is another theme which you can consider. But, for this you will need to find a certain culture which is practically possible for you to shoot. You can go around the city and observe different kind or groups of people, and one that catches your eye the most.

Reflections

How about reflections? Go to different places where there is a water body, at different times, and capture the various reflections of traffic, buildings, people, yourself in the water.

Rains and Nature

Rains is also a good idea to consider. You can take two opposite points of view, while shooting for this theme. One shot you can show of a person enjoying the rain, and another shot can be of somebody getting troubled due to rains. For example, children playing in puddles, while a vendor with a frown closing his business.
If you like shooting nature, then you explore some green places around your city. Parks, sanctuaries, forest, anything is good. So, take amazing landscapes of these places.

Motion

Capturing motion is also an interesting theme ideas for a photography project. Learn some fast shutter speed setting, and capture people running to catch a bus, some vehicle moving fast, somebody dancing, trees swaying in storm, etc.
